Vietnam Partners' Chairman Jim Lewis and President Virginia Foote met with Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in Hanoi on June 1, 2007 to discuss various activities to increase trade and investment in Vietnam.
Prime Minister Dung said he values Vietnam Partners' investment initiative and urged work with relevant agencies and local authorities. The Prime Minister took the opportunity to laud Foote, who was President of the US-Vietnam Trade Council, for her contributions to the normalization of Vietnam-US relations and the signing of the Bilateral Trade Agreement as well as her support for Vietnam's WTO membership.
Vietnam and the US have enjoyed tremendous growth in bilateral relations across many fields over the last 20 years but especially in developing strong economic ties.
